Kesher extends its educational model to other Jewish institutions through its Community Resource Division, a service that includes special needs program assessment, development and implementation, as well as training and student evaluations.
Our reputation for excellence, coupled with our esteemed leadership and seasoned faculty, have generated significant interest from other local Jewish schools as well as CAJE (Center for Advancement of Jewish Education) who turn to Kesher for guidance and assistance in helping special needs students not enrolled in Kesher. In response, we established our Community Resource Division.
Community Resource has enabled us to broaden our reach and help more children by bringing Kesher’s quality educational services to students in their current environment. Having Kesher staff consult for and/or work onsite at other schools eliminates the need to uproot children or separate them from siblings, friends and their community.
Kesher staff will assist the school to assess its own need for special academic services.
Once the need is assessed, Kesher staff will develop an educational program to meet the specific needs of the school community’s special population.
Once the program is designed, Kesher can supervise the school’s teachers in the implementation of the special needs programming.
Once the needs are assessed and the program is designed, Kesher can provide all staff necessary to implement the program.
Schools can call on the Kesher staff to consult on any number of special education topics, i.e. specific student observations, behavior modification, programmatic assessments.
Kesher will provide teacher training workshops on a number of topics. Workshops can be designed as one-day seminars or multi-session classes.
Kesher will mentor the school’s special education staff to ensure the professionals are trained in current special education best practices. Best practices will be continually redefined through current literature.
Kesher staff will provide on-site academic achievement testing to students on an individual basis. Kesher will also contract with local area psychologists to provide psycho-educational testing as needed.
